Yep, It's Hornswaggle. The Little Bastard is Vince's Little Bastard. Following are my thoughts on the situation.
The BuildupLooking back at it now, the night that Coach told VKM that he had an illegitimate son, he also treating the other revelations as a joke. He said a Congressional investigation was like Barney Fife(sp?) investigating the case. He then ended the IRS segment with IRS the wrestler peeking at him over a newspaper. I'm not sure why I thought that the final bullet slung at him (paternity suit) wou;d be anything other than a joke as well.
WWE did (in my opinion) an excellent job at building up this whole thing. As the weeks passed, I really was looking forward to finding out who the kid was. WWE knows that they have internet leaks, and I'm sure they could've leaked that Kennedy was gonna be the kid, planning all along to have the segment with Kennedy claiming to be the kid as a big misdirect.
The possibly of course exists that Kennedy was the plan and the suspension made them switch gears, but there's no way we'll know. They could've just as easily has Kennedy been revealed as the kid, then Vince could've suspended him because of the fact that his mother is suing him, or had Steph/Shane/Linda do the honors.
The RevelationWhen the segment was progressing, I was totally into the show. The fact that the Sox were hammering Tampa Bay 16-10 (yes it was baseball
) helped keep me from switching back and forth like I normally would do. The actor who played the lawyer wasn't great, but what do we expect. The whole progressive clues thing was kinda fun, I liked figuring out who it could be, and the whole time just kept saying "Please don't be Triple H".
When it came down to the final 3 I was pulling for JBL, but Sandman could've been fun. (Sandman has since been released, so I'm sure he was never even considered) When it was just Triple H, I was less than happy. The prospect of them doing an incest angle was all too plausible with the way they tend to book things.
When Hornswaggle was announced, I was happy. I felt a little let down. (and upset that people on NMZ were actually right about it
) But the fact that H wasn't the son was the biggest relief. I think they did the whole finish to it a lot of favors by teasing Trips, since no one wants to see that. So when given the option of Triple H or Hornswaggle, I was thrilled with the Leprachaun.
They also had a brief exchange with Vince & H to reveal that H is married to Steph. Coupled with the little thing the week before with H changing Vince's Stephanie Tribute video I'm pretty sure that this will be something they reveal down the line.
Going ForwardTriple H is gonna be feuding with Vince. I'm not sure how exactly Hornswaggle fits into the whole thing, other than to bug Vince. I think VKM will probably try to pretend he's happy with his 'new son' for a week or three, but then basically viciously attack the little guy and get turbo heat.
Triple H would be mocking Vince the whole way along, and eventually stop him from killing Hornswaggle or just stand up to Vince afterwards telling him he's a schmuck, etc.
Kennedy still fits easily into the storyline, either being revealed as Vince's real son because of a mix-up at the lab, or something. (which seems inprobable since the mother is the plaintiff in the case, so her lawyer would probably know who her kid really is.)
The other option could be that Vince was moved by Kennedy's speach, about not having to change for him and so forth, and adopts him after he stands up for him attacking Triple H.
That all still leads us to
1 - the extended feud between Vince/Kennedy & Triple H,
2- the possibility of Shane joining up with Trips to support him after it's revealed H is his brother in law. He said last week he always wanted a brother, and Hornswaggle doesn't really 'measure up'.
3- Hornswaggle gets some more tv time
4- Vince gets some comedy on tv for about a month while Kennedy is suspended. (if he even really is)
5- The Cruiserweight Title falls further into obscurity, unless Noble beats Hornswaggle for it and gets a rub either as praise or reprisal from Vince for beating him.
That's my take.
