FILLERFILLERFILLERFILLERFILLERFILLERFILLERFILLER The Masked Observer | We have just learned that Sergei Sokol is retiring from VCW. This comes as quite a shock to me and my staff. I immediately got on the phone and managed to get this interview with Sokol before he embarked on a plane for Moscow. L E G E N D The Masked Observer Sergei Sokol Hi Sergei, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions today. It is my great pleasure Masked Observer! I am saddened by the reasons behind this retirement and will gladly answer any question you may have! Awesome! Your retirement comes as a shock to those of use who've followed your career in VCW, what prompted your decision? You know, after losing the heavyweight belt to Gigante Fujima, I had to reconsider my part in the wrestling business. It's clear to me, that I've reached the point, which I can't pass over for now. I want to take a long break, to refresh myself, to get out of the highlight. Also, russian tv-channel "7TV" asked me to become the host of their wrestling-themed talk-show, and I really think I will accept this. If you could have one more match in VCW before you leave for good, who would it be against and why? It definitely would be Major Mudd. He shows off too much about his winning streak, but as for me - he isn't so much good, as he tries to act. I think, I can put him back to his place. Lets take a look at the current class of heavyweights in VCW, a division that you helped establish with your dominant performances. Who do you feel has the potential to take Serguei's position at the top of the promotion? Daniel Diamondeye, for sure. He showed some really good perfomance, when we were working together, and I think that he can get the high-spot here, if he'll want it really hard. Your contract with VCW also included being a bodyguard for Ms Swift, will you continue fulfilling that role or are you done in Vegas? It's not a done deal yet, but I'm trying to stop all my action here, in Vegas. My homeyard is waiting for me! (laughing) "I've heard from various people that Rob Wallace, Kaelan Anderson and Daniel Diamondeye were looking forward to facing you in their quest to take possession of the heavyweight title, what do you have to say to these men?" Well, guys, I'm sorry. I'd really want to take you on, but the things came another way. Maybe someday, sometime we'll have our matches back. Have a good luck, taking the belt away from Fujima! And finally, if VCW ever called you up in the near or far flung future, would you ever consider returning? Yes, I think so. Wrestling became a big part of my life, and VCW - is my second home. I'll really miss you, guys, and I believe, that some day we'll meet again, in this very ring! We can only hope! Good luck on your travels Sergei, and if you ever need a guest on your new TV show, give me a shout, I'd love to take part. Will do Masked Observer! And to all my fans, thanks for the memories! Until next time, I am... the Masked Observer! |
