September 23, 2009Road to Fear & Loathing - Week 1 Longshot comes on the air with Tim Ramirez running down tonight's matches. As he he is mid-sentence, "Last" by Nine Inch Nails blasts through the speakers. Vertigo makes his way to the ring along with Brooke Sage. Brooke climbs into the ring for her match, but Vertigo makes his way around and sits down at the announce table with Tim. He announces that he is now going to be doing commentary with Ramirez. Number One Contender Tournament VCW Women's Championship Quarter Final "The Rose" Elisha Knight ~VS~ "Beautiful" Brooke Sage
The Women's Title Shot Tournament kicks off with an old rivalry renewed. Brooke was mostly ineffective since everyone and their mother knows she targets the arm. Elisha successfully countered her attempts and put her away with The Thorn.5:43 - Elisha Knight defeated Brooke SageScott Starnes made his way out to the ring and cut a promo on V saying that he put him out of action and that the announce desk is a great place for him to sit and rot away. Vertigo did not dispute that Starnes put him out but rather told Scott that he needs to worry about Daniel Diamondeye at Fear & Loathing. Jacob Anwar ~VS~ Water
The new Las Vegas Champion was strong, but Anwar showed why he seemingly always in the conversation for title shots now. As the match went on, Water signalled that it was time for the Blue Stunner. Kurt Engelhorn came out and picked up the Las Vegas title belt. Water started screaming at him, but never saw Anwar creep up behind him. Jacob rolled him up with a school boy and won the match.4:17 - Jacob Anwar defeated WaterAfter the match, Engelhorn placed the belt on the ring apron and yelled "Fear & Loathing" at Water as he walked away. Vinny Ramos ~VS~ Dazza "The King"
Ramos was good tonight, but he wasn't in the league of The King. Dazza had victory well in hand and was set up for the King's Hammer, but Jimmy Richards came out toward the ring wearing a neck brace. Dazza gave the throat slash gesture while pointing at Richards but Vinny played the opportunist and hit the Ramos Slam for the upset win.3:58 - Vinny Ramos defeated Dazza Sledgehammer Justice ~VS~ The Coven (Tolliver & Kalkos)
Knight and Burton took charge early and maintained control of the match. Kalkos and Tolliver couldn't string together any meaningful offense and suffered defeat after the Excalibur Bomb from Knight on Tolliver.6:50 - Sledgehammer Justice defeated The Coven (Tolliver & Kalkos)After the match, the big screen shows Ted Tsavales laid out backstage with The Andersons walking away. Hardcore Match "The Notorious" 187 ~VS~ Jeremy Williams
Jeremy is developing quite the following among VCW's fans, but tonight it might have had just as much to do with the fact he was facing 187. The Vegas Horsemen's hardcore representitive took him to task in the match and secured victory with the Long Beach Lariat.4:22 - 187 defeated Jeremy Williams in a Hardcore Match. After the match 187 and "Black" Jack Dunnigan continued to assault Jeremy with a variety of the weapons in the ring. Scrappy Joe then hit the ring and laid into 187 with a series of stiff shots. 187 slid out of the ring and walked off as Joe announced he'll be facing 187 for the Hardcore title at Fear & Loathing. Number One Contender Tournament VCW Women's Championship Quarter Final Summer Brodey ~VS~ "Bloody" Arrianna Lyra
In the second tournament match of the night Arrianna was dominant over Summer. Brodey kept coming back and would not stay down, but Arrianna locked her in Sinful Seduction and forced the tap out for the victory.5:35 - Arrianna Lyra defeated Summer Brodey Number One Contender VCW Juniorweight Championship Sudden Death 4-way El Hijo Del Perra ~VS~ Tyler Marx ~VS~ Michael Stern ~VS~ Born-Again Kid
A wild free-for-all of a match kept the crowd going throughout. Each man managed to hit his finisher, including EHDP misting each of his opponents with a different color mist. EHDP locked El Pulpo on Stern, but Esix Cordero ran down to the ring. Perra released the hold and smashed Esix in the face, knocking him from the ring apron into the barricade. Stern capitalized and hit the Stern DDT to win the match and secure a title shot.8:09 - Michael Stern defeated El Hijo Del Perra, Tyler Marx & Born-Again Kid in a Sudden Death 4-way. Daniel Diamondeye ~VS~ Ryan Bowdridge
Daniel and Ryan fought hard tonight, with Daniel trying to prove he is deserving of his title match at Fear & Loathing, while Ryan was trying to show that he should be included as well. Both men made a good case for their argument, but in the end it was Daniel with the Moneymaker for the victory.7:46 - Daniel Diamondeye defeated Ryan Bowdridge
